【潘岳／宜蘭報導】私立佛光大學今天上午頒發榮譽文學博士學位，予諾貝爾文學獎得主中國籍小說家莫言，莫言獲頒榮譽博士學位後謙虛說：「我的脖子頗粗，確實難以承受這頂桂冠的分量，盡管我在文學方面作出成績，但戴博士帽仍差得遠。」

寫 過《紅高梁家族》、《豐乳肥臀》、《蛙》等多本得獎作品的莫言，1955年生，是首位獲諾具爾文學獎的中國作家。上午親自參加頒贈典禮的星雲大師，盛讚莫 言在文學上的成就，莫言獲頒諾貝爾文學獎，不光是他個人，更是全中國人獲獎。星雲大師並認為，貧苦與閱讀自學是莫言能獲諾貝爾文學獎的二個重要原因。
