國軍第五作戰區陸軍機步二三四旅V-150人員運輸甲車二輛，廿一日進駐嘉義縣朴子市配天宮，該型甲車涉水深達一點七公尺，可協助淹水地區民眾撤離任務，在歷次災害救援中，扮演重要角色，此次「天兔」颱風可能帶來豪雨威脅，國軍配合地方政府完成各項災防預置兵力，盡職守護民眾生命財產安全。（軍聞社卓以立）
