蘋果iPhone率先採用金屬機殼且取得市場好評後，高階智慧型手機吹起金屬機殼風潮，而該趨勢也延伸到中階產品線，產業人士表示，手機廠為了維持、塑造一致品牌風格，除了高階產品端，中高階或中階產品也會採取類似設計，甚至有一些主打低階手機起家的廠商，為了進一步向中階市場靠攏，也開始在產品設計上融入金屬材料。法人認為，隨著金屬機殼滲透率持續提升，機殼廠可成（2474）、鴻準（2354）等將會是主要受惠者。

今年IT產業整體表現較為低迷，不過仍見手機廠力求改變；日系手機大廠Sony今年積極強化旗下智慧型手機產品線，並陸續推出採用金屬邊框的旗艦機種，而包括聯想、諾基亞與華為等手機廠也都推出金屬材質智慧型手機；此外，手機龍頭廠三星也傳出明年旗艦機種有意願採用金屬機殼，有利於金屬機殼滲透率持續提升。

以往金屬機殼運用多以高階機種為主，不過產業人士表示，手機廠為了維持、塑造一致品牌風格，除了高階產品端，中高階或中階產品也會採取類似設計；顯示未來金屬材質於中階手機的應用有機會更為廣泛。

另外，產業人士觀察，以低階智慧型手機起家的華為、小米手機近期也都有朝中高階市場發展的趨勢，顯示手機廠為了追求相對有營養的獲利，還是會努力往中高階市場邁進，且為了增加手機質感，也開始在產品設計上融入金屬材料。

產業人士指出，手機乃是一種外顯的產品，透過不同的外觀設計，可增加市場區隔性與附加價值，而目前看來，不論是高階、或是中階手機中的旗艦機種，都有採用金屬材質的趨勢。

可成董事長洪水樹先前就曾經指出，目前金屬滲透率仍持續增加，且除非很低階的產品，否則在中階產品線，也將開始導入金屬材質；透露出對於金屬機殼產業樂觀的看法。

法人則認為，從各家手機廠規劃產品線來看，走勢對於金屬機殼廠相對有利，不過因目前金屬機殼手機仍以一體成形鋁擠工法為主，成本還是比較高，單機價低於300美元的智慧型手機不見得會完全採用現有作法，應該會有一些異材質的結合，但也有利於拓展金屬材質的應用範圍。

法人認為，隨著金屬機殼滲透率持續提升，機殼廠可成、鴻準等將會是主要受惠者。
